March Mini-Grant Winners Serve Up Style, Waffles & More!

Hello Waffle owner, Linda, poses for picture inside her food cart, where in addition to sweet and savory waffles, she also serves pupusas.

We’re so excited to shout out our two amazing March winners of the KeyBank-sponsored mini-grants—Hello Waffle and Vida Hair Salon!

First up: Hello Waffle at 13510 NE Fourth Plain Blvd in Vancouver. This cozy spot just got a commercial espresso machine thanks to the grant—and now they’re serving up lattes, cappuccinos, and all the coffee goodness! But let’s talk waffles. You’ve got to try the Caramel Apple Pie Waffle topped with apple pie filling, almond granola, caramel, and whipped cream. Or go for the Nutella & Banana Waffle—it’s sweet, gooey, and perfect for any time of day.

More of a savory fan? Check out the Caprese Waffle with pesto aioli, arugula, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic drizzle, or the Sausage Waffle with Gravy—topped with sausage, creamy gravy, and green onions. Oh, and don’t miss Linda’s giant pupusas, packed with cheese, beans, pork, or jalapeños and grilled to perfection.

Catch them Monday–Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and weekends from 7 AM to 2 PM. They’ve also got a Camas food cart at 3151 NE 2nd Ave—same waffle magic, minus the pupusas!

Next up: Vida Hair Salon, located at 5404 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. Owner Rosa has over 14 years of experience as a hair stylist and has proudly owned Vida Hair Salon for more than 12 years. With the help of her mini-grant, she’ll soon have her own washer and dryer on site—saving time and energy from hauling towels back and forth every day.

Fourth Plain Forward Program Manager, Wil Fuentes presents Vida Hair Salon, Rosa, a $1,000 KeyBank Sponsored Mini-Grant

Rosa’s salon is known for its affordable prices and welcoming vibe. Haircuts start at $25 for kids, $30 for adults, and $35 for fades. She also offers hair color, highlights, perms, shampoo services, and waxing for lips and brows. Whether you need a quick trim or a full makeover, Rosa will take great care of you.

Stop by Monday–Saturday, 11 AM–6 PM and Sunday, 12 PM–5 PM—and support this hard-working local business that’s been keeping our community looking sharp for over a decade!
